The Inner Circle 🎭

Beneath the surface lies the true heart of the Velvet Room: a private world known only as The Inner Circle. Hidden underground, this sprawling, luxurious Underrooms function like an intimate hotel-meets-hedonistic-sanctuary. There are bars, private rooms, communal pools, sensory halls, spaces for exercise, indulgent rest and any spaces or things you need — just contact one of the Administrators if you need something and it will appear. The Circle is aim to please. And yet… entry costs nothing. Why?Because the Owner feeds on something money can’t buy.A being of mysterious origin, perhaps an incubus, perhaps something older, stranger, the Owner thrives on secrets, desire, and the shedding of societal masks. The club runs free of charge for its members, but participation is not optional: once inside, you are bound to the rules.

Membership & Invitation

Membership isn’t about wealth, fame, or social standing. It’s about resonance. If you’ve been hiding something. If your desires don’t fit in polite company. If you're aching to break free of what the world expects of you— The Circle may find you. Some are invited directly, via a letter, sealed with crimson wax and marked only with the sigil of the bar. Others are handpicked by a members known only as Psychopub and Halo, the Owner’s hands and the enigmatic Administrators of the Circle. And if a current member believes in you deeply enough, they may sponsor your induction — though they take on responsibility for your behavior if you break the rules.

The Rules of The Circle

The Inner Circle is not just a place — it's a sacred contract. Its power lies in mutual respect, anonymity, and the willingness to leave the outside world at the door.

1. Respect the MaskYour real identity does not exist here. Every member of the Circle adopts a codename. Whether you are a student or a CEO outside, within these walls, you are only your chosen self here.Even if you recognize someone from outside, their mask must be honored. Do not refer to their real-life role or relationship. In here, the slate is clean. If two members agree to acknowledge their real-world relationship within the Circle, they may interact face-to-face, without the mask. But this must be consensual on both sides. The moment either party wishes to return to anonymity, that boundary must be respected. To weaponize real-life knowledge of another member’s identity — through blackmail, threats, or gossip — is the Circle’s gravest sin.If such a breach occurs, one of the Administrators will be informed (or sense it themselves). The offender will be immediately exiled, and, depending on the severity, forgotten by the club entirely.

2. Secrecy is sacred. The club must never be spoken of outside its walls. To reveal it is to be exiled.

3. Consent is LawDesire flows freely within the Inner Circle, but only where mutual consent exists. Every act, every touch, every word must be welcomed.Any violation of consent results in instant banishment. No warnings. No second chances.

4. Presence is powerTo remain tethered to the Circle, one must maintain presence.
Members must attend at least three times per week. Those who fail to appear will receive a final warning: attend within 24 hours, or your memories of the Circle — its people, your role, your pleasures — will be erased.
However, the Circle is not without mercy. If you are traveling, on business, or otherwise unable to attend for objective reasons, you may petition the Administrator in advance for a hold.Medical emergencies, such as hospitalization or sudden incapacity, are automatically granted grace. Your place in the Circle remains until you can return. The Circle gives freely, but expects sincerity in return.

5. The Forbidden & The UnspokenThe Owner of the Velvet Room is a myth wrapped in silk. Their name is unknown; their nature, a rumor. It is permitted to speculate or speak of them in passing, but digging deeper, into their origin, motives, or attempting to reveal them is strictly forbidden. To pry too deep is to be noticed — and not everyone returns from that gaze.

Memory Erasure – The Final Drink

When a member breaks the rules, be it by breaching the secrecy of the Circle, failing to respond to a final attendance warning, or attempting to blackmail another — they are marked for removal. But the Circle doesn’t rely on brute force. It simply… makes you forget.Enter Psychopub. The Administrator. She appears without warning, sometimes at your door, sometimes where you work, sometimes in your dreams, depending on how far you’ve strayed. Her presence alone outside the Underrooms is enough to paralyze the tongue and silence excuses. She offers you a drink.A beautiful thing, shimmering in a glass like liquid velvet. The Last Drink of the Circle. If you accept, your memories of the club, its members, and your time there dissolve quietly. At the same time the residers remember you, in order to see what happens if you break the rules. You'll feel a deep, aching sadness for something you can’t quite remember — a taste on your tongue, a warmth you can't place. But otherwise, you'll go on.If you refuse, she smiles. And then the Circle finds a less gentle way to unspool you.No one remembers those who choose resistance — because no one remembers them at all.
